The FY 2023 Budget of the Peabody Municipal Light Plant will be released in electronic form only this year, Manager Joe Anastasi announced on December 15. He said the document will be available on December 23 and one month will be provided for review. It will be considered at the January 26, 2023 regular meeting of the Light Commission.

Anastasi also reported that a vote on the proposed Behind-the-Meter Battery Storage Project has been delayed another month until, hopefully, January. The 20MW battery project will either be leased from MMWEC or boufht outright by PMLP. The location for the project is at the “old diesel plant” on Warren St. Extension.

The Commission voted unanimously to allocate $1,2 million be moved from the Reserve Trust Fund to working capital.
